MORONS of the Year?

post date December 17, 2010 Posted by
do it yourself shed plans

Question by not singing the yahoo tune: MORONS of the year?
Presenting the top morons of the year…

1. WILL THE REAL DUMMY PLEASE STAND UP?
AT&T fired President John Walter after nine months, saying he lacked intellectual leadership. He received a $ 26 million severance package. Perhaps it’s not Walter who’s lacking intelligence.

2. WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM OUR FRIENDS:
Police in Oakland, California spent two hours attempting to subdue a gunman who had barricaded himself inside his home. After firing ten tear gas canisters, officers discovered that the man was standing beside them in the police line, shouting, “Please come out and give yourself up.”

3. WHAT WAS B???
An Illinois man, pretending to have a gun, kidnapped a motorist and forced him to drive to two different automated teller machines, wherein the kidnapper proceeded to withdraw from own his bank accounts.

4. THE GETAWAY!
A man walked into a Topeka, Kansas Kwik Stop, and asked for all the money in the cash drawer. Apparently, the take was too small, so he tied up the store clerk and worked at the counter himself for three hours until police showed up and grabbed him.

5. DID I SAY THAT???
Police in Los Angeles had good luck with a robbery suspect who just couldn’t control himself during a line-up. When detectives asked each man in the line-up to repeat the words: “Give me all your money or I’ll shoot,” the man shouted, “That’s not what I said!”

6. ARE WE COMMUNICATING??
A man spoke frantically into the phone, “My wife is pregnant and her contractions are only two minutes apart!” “Is this her first child?” the doctor asked. “No!” the man shouted, “This is her husband!”

7. NOT THE SHARPEST TOOL IN THE SHED!!
In Modesto, California, Steven Richard King was arrested for trying to hold up a Bank of America branch without a weapon. King used a thumb and a finger to simulate a gun, but unfortunately, he failed to keep his hand in his pocket. (hellllllooooooo!)

8. THE GRAND FINALE
Last summer, down on Lake Isabella, located in the high desert, an hour east of Bakersfield, California, some folks, new to boating, were having a problem. No matter how hard they tried, they couldn’t get their brand new 22 ft. boat going. It was very sluggish in almost every manoeuvre, no matter how much power was applied.

After about an hour of trying to make it go, they putted to a nearby marina, thinking someone there could tell them what was wrong.

A thorough topside check revealed everything in perfect working condition. The engine ran fine, the out drive went up and down, and the prop was the correct size and pitch. So, one of the marina guys jumped in the water to check underneath.

He came up choking on water, he was laughing so hard. NOW REMEMBER…THIS IS TRUE … Under the boat, still strapped securely in place, was the trailer

Saltbox Shed Plans – 2 Keys to Consider When Building a Saltbox Shed

1. Roof

Clearly the roof of a saltbox shed is quite different from your conventional flat or pitched roof. The saltbox style emanated from New England and is a good example of colonial architecture.

It is basically a structure which has 2 stories to the front and 1 to the back. The shape is therefore assymetrical which means that the front part of the roof is short and steep with the back part long and sloping, to accommodate the single story aspect at the back.

This roof construction can be quite tricky and a good set of drawings and plans are essential for building a saltbox shed, although your shed is likely to be smaller than the traditional colonial saltbox house that originated in New England.

2. Saltbox shed plans

Because of the unconventional shape of the roof any help you get from friends or neighbours, whilst welcome, is unlikely to have experienced this type of roof design before.

And the measuring and quantifying of materials can be a tricky business because of this. However the extra effort and planning is worth it because you will have a shed with real character.

Clearly the most important thing to do when embarking on your project is to plan out your job very carefully and avoid driving to and fro to the building supplies store… especially at the weekend.

Illustrations, by step instructions and a good set of saltbox shed plans are essential.

Armed with these you will succeed and avoid a lofty ambition turning into a DIY disaster and you will build a shed of distinction that will be the envy of your neighbours… and provide good, functional storage space for you.

My dog never went once inside the dog house (well I once tried to force him, that failed), but I still think of it as "his" house.

In my plans to get a new dog, I rotated it to face to house, thinking a new one might take to hanging out in it.

Blackie
doghouse plans

This is Blackie, the newest member of our family.

Blackie’s mother (Minnie) was a stray that was born and grew up in our backyard. She was the sweetest and friendliest outdoor cat I’ve ever known. She had her first litter (three black kittens and one orange) exactly one week after her own mother had kittens, and she had them in the same spot — a plastic doghouse we have on our back porch. She and her mother shared the mothering duties, and nursed each other’s kittens. Not long after that, she was run over and killed in the street in front of our house.

We took it badly. I never knew who did it, and if I did, I would happily tear one of their arms off and beat them with it. I went a little insane after that, and I still have no problem chucking a piece of firewood at some car speeding or running the stop sign in front of our house.

Minnie’s mother took over the nursing duties, and we supplemented with kitten formula. Hand-feeding tends to raise very sweet kittens, and Blackie was the loving. After they had weaned, we left town for a long weekend for a family gathering. We had a teen-aged girl coming over every day to feed the inside and outside cats. The second day after we were gone, she called and told us one of the small black kittens had fallen into the pool and drowned. We weren’t sure if it was Blackie, our favorite, until we got back.

Once we returned, we found that it wasn’t Blackie, but one of the other kittens. That didn’t really make it any easier, though. This little one was the third kitten I had buried in less than two months (we lost a kitten we had tried to rescue near the studio a few weeks earlier, but it was too far gone — another long, hard story).

I think I got a little crazier somewhere around this point.

We knew we needed to control our cat population, and we made plans to spay the females. Minnie’s mother, the matriarch of our backyard, was first, and we had her spayed not long after the kittens were completely weaned. All the other kittens except the two small black ones were obvious boys, so we made plans to spay the two females. Before we could, though, the other black kitten disappeared. I had been hearing an eagle around our property, and I think that’s what happened to her.

We took Blackie in to be spayed. The vet called later that day and said she couldn’t be spayed, but perhaps he could be neutered. It’s a little hard to tell with kittens, but his siblings were very obvious. We also had his ear notched — strays that have been spayed or neutered have their ears notched to show that the procedure has been done.

Since he was healing, we kept him inside the house for a few days. He was still very, very loving, and we came to realize that we just could not stand to lose another cat we loved. He hasn’t been outside since.
